The yatra begins from Haridwar, where pilgrims assemble and proceed towards Barkot. The route gradually ascends into the Himalayan foothills, passing through scenic valleys, rivers, and forested stretches.
En route, a short halt may be taken near Mussoorie or Kempty Falls, depending on road conditions. Arrival at Barkot or a nearby village by evening. The rest of the day is reserved for rest and preparation for the Yamunotri darshan.
